‘HOLDING LIAT’ SCREENING

In the weeks unfolding after Liat Atzili was kidnapped, her father resists efforts to use her captivity to justify escalating violence in Gaza, exposing political and emotional rifts within his family as they struggle to find a way to bring Liat home. PASTA SHABBAT!

Now that Passover has ended, join the Den Collective for a jovial Shabbat dinner gathering where the community will come together to once again enjoy our favorite forms of chametz: bread, pasta and, of course, plenty of challah. Community members in their 20s, 30s and 40s are invited to celebrate Shabbat, complete with Shabbat rituals, meaningful discussion and a festive meal. BATTLE OF THE BAGELS

Tired of matzah? Post-Passover, celebrate the return of risen bread with Sixth & I and help decide who makes the best bagels in the District. ‘THE ZONE OF INTEREST’ SCREENING

In honor of Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, see a screening of “A Zone of Interest,” a 2024 film about the commandant of Auschwitz and his wife, who strive to build a dream life for their family in a house next to the camp. The film considers the legacy of atrocities and the boundaries of cruelty. The event closes with a post-film discussion and light refreshments. DC’S 12TH OFFICIAL MIMOUNA FESTIVAL OF GOOD NEIGHBORS

Marking the end of Passover, Sephardic Heritage International-DC’s Mimouna is a festive celebration that honors the historical neighborly relationship between Muslim and Jewish neighbors in Morocco. Enjoy a live performance, traditional sweets, culinary demonstrations, guest speakers and a celebration of community, culture and diversity. The event runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Washington, D.C.
