With deep sorrow, we announce that Adele H. Liskov, age 82, passed away peacefully on April 7 at Potomac Court in Potomac, Maryland. She was born on July 8, 1943, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to the late Kieve and Gertrude Liskov.

Adele was a woman of sharp intellect and global vision. After graduating from Central High School and pursuing graduate studies in philosophy at Florida State University, she lived for two years on a kibbutz in Israel before beginning a distinguished career in public service. She served as an aide to Congressman Lehman of Florida for 17 years and later worked for USAID, traveling to China and Africa to administer international aid programs.

A devoted mother, Adele adopted her daughter, Alana, from El Salvador and raised her with immense love; she later organized a memorable family trip to Bolivia to visit Alana in the Peace Corps and pursue her passion for bird watching. In 2015, Adele married Marvin Perlman of Potomac, Maryland, with whom she shared her later years. Following her retirement from USAID, she continued to share her love for culture and history as a docent at the Kreeger Museum in Washington, D.C.

Adele is survived by her husband, Marvin; her daughter, Alana; and her brothers, Nathan and Bernard. Adele’s legacy of curiosity, service and devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Federation. Services entrusted to Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg Funeral Care.
