On Jan. 16, Bernard Klein of Rockville, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home. Loving husband of the late Esther Klein; devoted father of Karen Klein and Michael Klein; cherished brother of Benson (Carol) Klein and the late Beatty (Buddy) Bass; beloved grandfather of Jane and Libby.
A proud graduate of the University of Maryland, Bernie spent 50 years building homes all throughout the region. He was a rain-or-shine devotee of Washington’s NFL team through all of its name changes, as well as the Nationals, Orioles and Ravens. He loved nothing more than visiting and spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and the rest of his large extended family. In the end, he managed an uncharacteristic feat of impeccable timing, passing away in his sleep on his and Esther’s 58th wedding anniversary.
