Beverly Namath of Rockville, Maryland, passed away on June 6 at the age of 93. Devoted wife of the late Norman Namath; loving mother of Randy (Sarah Todd) Namath, Stuart (Cookie) Namath, Edward (Mae Brudner) Namath, Joel (Susan) Namath and Michael (Sue Shankman) Namath; adoring grandmother of seven grandchildren.
Born May 30, 1932 to Murray and Bessie Broder in Worcester, Massachusetts. Beverly attended Beth Israel School of Nursing. After working as a nurse, she raised her children and at the same time worked in several other professions including as a bookkeeper, in-home day-care provider, bookstore owner and invitation designer.
She was deeply involved in Jewish life at Temple Emanuel in Worcester, B’nai Israel in Clearwater, and Washington Hebrew Congregation. Over the past 10 years while living at Ring House in Rockville, she welcomed new residents and volunteered regularly to help people feel welcome and part of the community. In each role she loved connecting and talking with people.
