Donald Colodny of Washington, D.C., passed away suddenly on Aug. 19, in Washington, D.C. He was predeceased by his parents, Milton and Hilda Colodny of Binghamton, NY, and his brother, Alan Colodny, of Carrolton, Va. He is survived by Daniel O’Connell, whom he thought of as a son, special friends Erin Regan and Dan Penta, their daughter Josie Bird Penta, who called him great-grandpa; along with many cousins and friends with whom he was close. Anyone who met Don became a lifelong friend. He served on many community committees, including Commissioner on the Agency on Aging, and was a host on the local show “Seven On Your Side” in the 80s. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Arbor Foundation or a charity of your choice.
