Dr. David Eddy

Dr. David Richard Eddy passed away on July 3, after a long and dedicated career of service, care and compassion.

Dr. Eddy earned his Ph.D. in counseling from The Catholic University of America in 1982, distinguishing himself through academic excellence throughout his doctoral studies.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966. He was honored to be called for employment by Jay Haley, who became his mentor extraordinaire. Dr. Eddy had many fond memories of the meaningful relationships that were made along his educational path.

Dr. Eddy practiced as a psychotherapist from 1982 until 2025, dedicating more than four decades to helping others. He was deeply grateful to the many patients who placed their trust in him over the years.

He is survived by his wife, Doina Adam, also a psychotherapist; his brother Gary and sister-in-law Kathy; his nephew Ryan and Ryan’s wife Beth, along with their children Carter and Caden; and his nephew Seth and his wife Samantha.

Dr. Eddy had a deep love for football and basketball. One of the highlights of Dr. Eddy’s most recent life is the time he spent with his dog, Daphne, a Border Collie, who has such an affection for people.
