On July 22, Dr. Lawrence G. Hefter of Bethesda, Maryland. Beloved husband of Susan Hefter; devoted father of Jonathan (Lisa) Hefter and Rachel (Josh) Goldstein; brother of Babette Becker; zany Zayde of Talia, Pazia, Meira and Hannah.
Born in Chicago in 1938, Larry studied medicine at the University of Chicago, before moving to the Washington area, where he was a renowned pathologist at Fairfax Hospital for over 30 years. Larry was passionate about all things related to water. His water-related hobbies included underwater photography, windsurfing and fishing. He also loved moss, hiking with his family in Maine, painting, puns, dancing and most of all, playing the spoons.
