On Oct. 19, Ethel Goldfinger, of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Walter Goldfinger; devoted mother of the late Michael Goldfinger and of Robert Goldfinger; loving sister of the late Betty Tepper Gordon and the late Harry Tepper; cherished grandmother of Elizabeth Goldfinger, Rebecca Goldfinger-Fein and David Goldfinger; and great-grandmother of Cole Harrington, Shay Harrington and Lena Goldfinger. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, additional family and friends.
Born in New York City, she was a powerhouse of a woman, remaining strong for her 102 years on this earth. Dedicated to her family, one of her biggest joys was becoming a grandmother and a great-grandmother. She was a member of the Temple Emanuel Sisterhood and was an active participant during the time her sons were going through their bar mitzvah journeys.
She was committed to a healthy lifestyle, dancing and movement (Zumba Gold and SeniorFit classes) and having a delicious treat after every meal. She owned a real estate business and was a practicing agent for decades in Montgomery County. In her later years, she gave back to her community by volunteering at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton. She loved to travel the world, whether it was camping in National Parks or taking trips to Asia and Africa. The world was absolutely her oyster. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial contributions may be made to Montgomery County Parks Foundation on behalf of Brookside Gardens or the American Civil Liberties Union.
