Frederick Graboske

Frederick J. Graboske of Rockville, MD, 80, passed away peacefully at home on July 28, after a long illness. Fred was born in Nanticoke, PA, in 1945, the son of Frederick Gustav Graboske and Isabelle (Rupinski) Graboske.

He was a proud cum laude graduate of Wyoming Seminary, near Wilkes-Barre, PA. Fred served his country during the Vietnam War as a radio teletype operator with the 1st Infantry Division. He went on to graduate from The American University with a BA in history and political science and from The Catholic University of America with an MA in history.

At the National Archives, Fred served as the supervisory archivist for the Nixon Tapes. He worked at the National Security Council at the White House, and as archivist for the U.S. Marine Corps in Washington, D.C. He was a records manager for the U.S. State Department.

Fred loved to travel all over the world, learning avidly. He loved animals, gardening and nature. He will be remembered by his friends for his great intellect, quick wit, knowledge of baseball and love of adventure. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Jamison Graboske.
