  • The symbol is the symbol of kashrut certification of the Vaad Harabanim of Greater Washington. Since the early days of the Washington Jewish community, the Rabbinical Council has been the local rabbinic group entrusted with the supervision and certification of kashrut. The places listed below include their supervision status. Some are under Vaad Harabanim of Gr. Wash./Rabbinical Council by Rabbi Hillel Klavan (301-593-0336). Others are supervised by the the Conservative Washington-Baltimore Region of the Rabbinical Assembly of Greater Washington, Metropolitan Rabbinical Kashrut Association (Rabbi Zev Schechter 301-681-1191) or some other specified supervision. Some carry kosher-certified products, but have no overall kosher supervision.
