On Feb. 1, Harold Irving Morrison of Chevy Chase, Maryland, passed away after a brief illness. Beloved husband for 54 years of the late Janet L. Morrison; devoted father of Alan (Jennifer) Morrison, and Stacey (Mark) Grayer. The most adored Papa to Jason, Maya, Ellie and Jake. Harold was preceded in death by his parents Theodore & Hilda Morrison and sisters Eleanor Kuperman and Cynthia Krauthamer.
Originally from Boston, Mass., Hal moved to Washington, D.C., after college. He began a career in the federal government that spanned 30 years. Hal and Janet both continued second careers of service with the Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington for 20-plus years. Hal loved the beach, reading a good book, a drive to the water with his close friend Helen Abrahams, a few games of chance and a good burger or corned beef sandwich. But his greatest joy was his grandchildren — Hal never missed a dance recital, sporting event, musical performance or any opportunity to cheer on his grandkids.
