Ilene Beth Silverman (née Levin), aged 75, of Germantown, Maryland, passed away peacefully on April 5. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 49 years, Allen Silverman, and their cherished children, Marc Silverman (Emily) and Stephanie Minkoff (Jason). Ilene was a beloved grandmother to Andrew and Kate Silverman and Annie and Adrienne Minkoff. Ilene also leaves behind her loving sisters, Renee Levin Welan (Jeffrey) and Sherri Levin Berger (Harold); and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her doting parents, Leonard and Anita (Dubin) Levin and her treasured bichons, Mitzi, Max and Molly.
Ilene met the love of her life, Allen, at a fruit store in Florida — a serendipitous beginning to nearly five decades of love and laughter. She loved spending winters in Florida and summers in Ocean City, enjoying countless games of mahjong and dinners with friends. She had a passion for travel, whether it was seeing the latest Broadway shows in New York or exploring faraway destinations. Ilene picked up friends everywhere she went. Her vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Her family is especially grateful for the gift of a living kidney donation, which gave them eight more precious years together. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Bat Yam or the National Kidney Foundation.
