Joseph Heiney, 87, of Potomac, Maryland, died on Aug. 24 at Sibley Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Ilene Heiney, and his three daughters, Jennifer, Michelle and Karen, granddaughter Kayle and his sister, Shirley Scribner. Joe was born and raised in Washington, D.C., graduated from Coolidge High School and The Ohio State University and then served in the military. He went on to open multiple gift shops in the DMV.
