Laurie Weker Lipton


On June 23, Laurie Weker Lipton, of Rockville, passed away after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. Laurie was born May 9, 1953, in Washington, D.C. She graduated from Walt Whitman High School and the University of Maryland, earning a B.A. in sociology and an M.S. in family counseling. She worked nearly her entire career for the federal government as a procurement policy analyst, rising to the position of division head. She was active in Kehilat Shalom synagogue in Gaithersburg, serving as vice president for development, and was a Bone-Builders (senior exercise) instructor.

Beloved wife of Leonard Lipton. Devoted mother of Ethan (Beverly) Lipton and Oliver Lipton. Contributions may be made to Arrangements entrusted to Torchinsky Hebrew Funeral Home.
