Of course, you are correct in your April 9 editorial about how social media presents a great danger to the younger generation. And yet, your editorial reminded me of the concerns of my parents and their peers in the 1950s about the dangers of rock ’n’ roll and comic books. And so, by agreeing with your concerns, am I any different from my parents? Or are we just participants in that periodic phenomenon known as “moral panic,” a term developed by South African-born Jewish sociologist Stanley Cohen?
