In 2022, a number of Fairfax County Public School parents filed Title VI civil rights complaints about antisemitism with the U.S. Department of Education. State-level complaints were also filed. The federal filings have languished under Democratic and Republican administrations.

FCPS high school student groups have called for keffiyeh weeks and reenacted Oct. 7, 2023-style kidnappings and murder to advertise their clubs.
Similar difficulties for Jewish students and parents have occurred in the Arlington County Public Schools and Prince William Public Schools.
What Ms. Zemel smears as a “congressional witch hunt” is a rare spotlight on these dangers.
