New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani got a break when one of his incendiary antisemitic remarks was revealed just a week before the election. In speaking at a conference in 2023, then-New York State Assemblyman Mamdani denounced police brutality and said that the NYPD had its jackboot on the neck of the citizens and the jackboot “was laced by the IDF.” If this kind of incendiary claptrap had been revealed weeks or months before, Mamdani would have had to explain his preposterous assertion that the Israel Defense Forces were responsible for police brutality in New York City.
The proper response to the election of Zohran Mamdani as mayor of New York City is for all supporters of Israel to boycott businesses in New York City. If you visit New York, stay in a hotel in the suburbs, go to restaurants in the suburbs and spend as little time as possible in New York City.
