With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Linda Beth Shapiro (née Weinrib), who died peacefully on July 14 at the age of 76.
Born on Sept. 14, 1948, Linda was the beloved wife of the late Marc Shapiro, and the devoted mother of Lauren Sachs (Alan) and Jonathan Shapiro (Kristin). She was a proud and loving savta/grandma to Asher, Meirav, Avital, Itai, Jacob and Benjamin.
Known for her sharp wit, love of history and storytelling, and her unmistakable New York spirit, Linda made a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was generous with her time, bold in her opinions, and deeply connected to those around her — family, friends, students and neighbors alike.
Her impact lives on in the many people she touched, and the countless stories shared in her memory. She will be missed and remembered with love.
