On Sunday, Oct. 20, Melvin Bergheim of Alexandria. Former Alexandria vice mayor, he is the beloved husband of the late Donna F. Bergheim; father of Beth B. Silver (Darwin), Laura A. Bergheim (Jim), David A. Bergheim (Christy) and Maria L. Bergheim; brother of Bette Lustig (Claude), Jerome Bergheim (Diane) and Sylvia Kaufmann (Robert); grandfather of Christopher and Timothy Stephens and Andrew and Brian Bergheim; step-grandfather of Jennifer Hickman and Quentin and Heather Silver; great-grandfather of Morgan, Addison and Julian Silver; also survived by beloved friend Gila Harris.
