Renee Schulman’s life spanned 96 years. She passed away peacefully on Sept. 14 surrounded by loving family.
Renee is now joined with her beloved husband of 67 years, Bernard, and her beloved son, Bennett. She was blessed with a keen intellect, always learning, engaged with books and current affairs. Born in Brooklyn, Renee graduated from the University of Vermont and lived in Connecticut, Ohio, New Jersey and Alabama before spending her final years close to family in Bethesda, Maryland. During her working years, Renee guided families as a learning disabilities specialist. She was a devoted Jew.
Renee’s memory is cherished by her two children; Judith Schulman Miller (Rabbi Jonathan Miller) and Dr. David Schulman (Luisa Schulman); five grandchildren: Rabbi Aaron Miller (Lauren), Alana Miller (Benjamin Gore), Dr. Ruth Schulman, Benjamin Miller (Dana Karangelen) and Diana Schulman. Renee delighted in her great-grandchildren, Eliana and Avital Miller, Judah and Theodore Gore. And she was exceptionally close to her sisters, Barbara Schwartz and Phyllis Waldman, and their families with many nieces and nephews.
