Robert Lewis Kline, of Delray Beach, FL, and formerly of Potomac, MD, passed away Oct. 24, four days after celebrating his 89th birthday. His family and friends have lost a truly wonderful, kind man, who was loved by everyone who knew him. His legacy is the pronounced and enduring love he had for his family. Bob was born in Hartford, CT, on Oct. 20, 1936, to Harry and Fay Kline. Bob was the loving older brother to Howard. After high school in West Hartford, he earned a business degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, Bob moved back to Connecticut and worked for Travelers Insurance before making his long-term home in the Washington, D.C., area. He ultimately joined the International Monetary Fund, where he spent a long and successful career. Both during his career and in his retirement years, he had the opportunity to travel extensively. He and Kay took many wonderful trips together exploring the world and visiting family.

More than anything, Bob loved his family – his wife, Kay, and his children and grandchildren. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a warm heart. He was a lifelong learner who enjoyed researching his family history, his children’s and then grandchildren’s careers, politics, world affairs and economics. His other passions included going to the beach, swimming in the ocean, watching sports, reading and following the financial markets.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kay, his children, Jill Kerxton (Robert), Marjorie Bowen (Charles Adams), Michael Kline (Harriet), and Kenneth Kline (Lauren), his 10 grandchildren, Zack Kerxton (Adriana), Ashley Kerxton, Megan Bowen (Ian Bearden), Madeline Bowen, Justin Kline, Ryan Kline, Alex Kline, Jordyn Kline, Taylor Kline, and Jake Kline and a newly born great-grandchild (Cloe Kerxton). He is also survived by his brother Howard (Martha).
