Sandra Serota Rennert, a beloved resident of Fox Hill in Bethesda, MD, left us on April 11, after a life richly and deeply lived with joy, commitment and passion. With degrees in social work and anthropology, she had unusual insight and empathy, acutely attuned to both human vulnerabilities and strengths, and also an abiding love of and deep curiosity about the natural world. She was an avid amateur ornithologist.
She touched the lives of the many friends and family who knew and loved her, and one of her greatest sources of joy and satisfaction was sharing life with her beloved husband, Owen Rennert, and raising a beautiful family, her children, Laura Rennert and her husband, Barry Eisler, Rachel Rennert and her husband, Barry Rosenberg, and her son Ian Rennert, and her beloved grandchildren, Sarah Eisler, Ben Eisler, Emma Eisler, Andrew Rosenberg, Eric Rosenberg and his wife, Jenna Kress, and Rachel Rosenberg.
She faced life’s hardships with courage, resilience and strength, and she embraced the grand adventure of her life in a way that inspired those who were lucky enough to love and be loved by her.
