Alan Friedman, of Washington, died on Sept. 19. He was 71.
He was the beloved husband of Louis Altarescu; brother of Barry (Bonnie) Friedman and Arna (Peter) Pupa.
He taught school in Washington for 34 years. He ushered at the Kennedy Center for 45 years, and volunteered at Adas Israel, the National Building Museum, the National Gallery of Art and at 10 local theaters.
