Andy Samberg and just about everyone else watching last weekend’s Golden Globes were shocked when his name was announced for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. Samberg won for his starring role in Fox’s freshman breakout comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine and wasn’t expecting to be giving a speech.
“Oh, no! I didn’t prepare anything, it wasn’t going to happen,” Samberg said. “Who knew?!” The Saturday Night Live veteran took time to thank the cast and crew of the series, which later won for Best Comedy Series. “The cast is awesome. The crew, really good. Can’t forget them. The writers kick A! I really do love them and respect them,” he added.
Samberg beat out Arrested Development’s”Jason Bateman, House of Lies’ Don Cheadle, The Michael J. Fox Show’s Michael J. Fox and Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons for the award.
