On Tuesday, Sept. 24, Annette B. Offenof Chevy Chase. Beloved mother of Dr. M. Louis (Laura) Offen, David Scott Offen and the late Jane Offen (Russell) Fleury; sister of the late Gerald Bernstein; grandmother of Alexis Offen (Aaron) Beim, Suzanne Offen and Justin Fleury; great-grandmother of Eli Offen Beim; and aunt of Sandra and Richard Bernstein. Predeceased by her parents, Simon and Rose Bernstein of Baltimore. She studied microbiology at the University of Maryland where she belonged to Phi Sigma Sigma sorority. Her marriage to the late Dr. J. Allan Offen ended in divorce. Annette’s grandfather David Bernstein, was an officer of the B’nai Israel Congregation of Baltimore and her father became bar mitzvah there. Memorial contributions may be made to Hadassah, of which she was a life-time member. Arrangements entrusted to Torchinsky Hebrew Funeral Home.
