Benita Joan Kaplan, of Rockville, died on Sept. 14. She was 89. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Kaplan.
She married Dr. Walter Kaplan and managed his Gaithersburg optometric practice for more than 40 years. She was interested in art, the environment, travel, books, Native American issues, education, philanthropy and civic affairs.
