Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation (giftoflife.org) held its first annual Capitol Region Walk for Life on Nov. 9 at Rock Creek Park in Washington, D.C. More than 100 people came out very early in the morning to raise awareness and funds for bone marrow and blood stem cell transplants. The event included the introduction—for the very first time—of a donor and a bone marrow transplant recipient. More than a year ago, Jennifer Grogan, a 44-year-old woman, was
diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and underwent a peripheral blood stem cell transplant. She was matched with her donor, Aaron Klass, a 25-year-old man whom she had never met.
