David Landau of Potomac, an avid runner and lawyer, is “paying it forward” and doing a mitzvah on behalf of a fellow runner with incurable brain cancer, Iram Leon. In 2013 Landau launched Make Him Work, LLC, a company that provides athletic gear and t-shirts to athletes. All of the proceeds from t-shirt sales will go toward the Rush the Gush Fund, which will provide for Iram’s daughter Kiana’s college education. For information, visit makehimwork.com. Maryland student Brett Fisher, a 13-year old preparing to become a Bar Mitzvah, is doing a fundraising project that he holds close to heart. Brett is the founder of Sandy’s Soldiers, Inc., a non-profit organization that raises money for multiple myeloma research. Brett’s new website is now live, where he is selling candles in memory of his late grandfather. Proceeds will benefit The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) in search of a cure for multiple myeloma. For more information about this project, visit sandyssoldiers.org. Photo provided
