A weeklong Chamber Musical Festival recently took place at Charles E. Smith Life Communities in Rockville. Staff musician-in-residence Lauren Latessa and three visiting musicians led a series of open rehearsals, lectures and performances that provided the artists and residents an opportunity to explore music together. The celebration was capped off with a public performance at Ring House on Dec. 17. Orli Yael Pelzman was born Oct. 29 to Dana and Philip Pelzman of Silver Spring at Holy Cross Hospital. Big brothers are Boaz and Shai. Maternal grandparents are Deborah and James Karesh of Chevy Chase. Paternal grandparents are Marianne and Phil Mandel of Milton, Del., and Joseph and Linda Pelzman of Gaithersburg. The daughter of David and Jennifer Silver, she is a sixth-grader at Cabin John Middle School.
