Sophie Ilana Krantz, daughter of Tracy and Stefan Krantz, will become a bat mitzvah on Nov. 28, at B’nai Israel Congregation in Rockville. Sophie will be joined by her brothers, Stu, Gabe and Jacob, as well as grandparents, Richard Evans of Boca Raton, Fla., and Lenore and Fred Krantz of Montreal, Quebec, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is a seventh grade student at Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School. For her mitzvah project, Sophie is raising money for the Thoughtful Treasures program at the Children’s Inn at N.I.H., as well as cooking meals for families staying at the Children’s Inn while their children receive medical treatments.
