The only female in late night will be leaving her post in December. Chelsea Handler, who’s been the host of Chelsea Lately on the E! channel since 2007, will end her seven-year run when her contract expires this year, according to her manager Irving Azoff.

“Chelsea intends to leave when her contract expires,” Azoff told The Hollywood Reporter. “She hired me to figure out her life after E! We have at least seven suitors and many ideas.”

Azoff mentioned that future plans for Handler may include a radio show or a possible weekly or nightly late-night show on another network or digital service. While Handler has achieved constant success for a while now — particularly with her new No. 1 New York Times best-seller Uganda be Kidding Me — she has voiced complaints and frustrations about E! for some time.

When she appeared on Howard Stern’s radio show on March 5, she described the network as “a sad, sad place to live. They don’t know what they’re doing. They have no ideas. It’s a failure.” Handler also added that she’d be open to forums like Netflix, as broadcast networks are probably out of the question, given her style of raunchy humor. — Ian Zelaya
