Cruising on the Potomac

0

About 70 Jewish interns boarded a vessel at Washington Marina for the annual Jewish Interns cruise. Rep. Ted Deutch (D-Fla.) joined them and gave them an overview of the U.S.-Israel relationship as well as the current situation in the Middle East from his unique vantage point as ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa. The interns were then able to ask questions and schmooze with the congressman. A sushi and falafel supper followed. The cruise was sponsored by NJIN-The National Jewish Interns Network, a project of American Friends of Lubavitch (Chabad), which offers Shabbat dinners, weekly classes and other social opportunities to Jewish interns in Washington, D.C., for the summer.
