Melissa (Lurie) and Carl Chaifetz of Indianapolis, formerly of Alexandria and Silver Spring, respectively, have announced the birth of their daughter, Dahlia Ariella, on Nov. 2. She weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 inches long.
Also welcoming Dahlia are her siblings Gordon and Sophie, grandparents Szeina and Philip Lurie of Alexandria and Ruth and Richard Chaifetz of Silver Spring, and great-grandmothers Sara Lea Winograd of Mexico City, Mexico, and Ethel Chaifetz of Worcester, Mass. Dahlia is named in memory of her maternal great-great-grandfather Aryeh Leib Winograd.
