Daniel Schere is a journalist, foodie and geography geek who hails from Raleigh, North Carolina. Previously he wrote for Yes Weekly, an alternative weekly newspaper in the Triad region of North Carolina where he covered city government and other happenings in Winston-Salem.
A 2014 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Daniel worked for three years at his school newspaper The Daily Tar Heel and served as an assistant editor his senior year. He was known there for his coverage of the university’s ongoing athletic-academic scandal.
Daniel enjoys exploring new places, listening to music and eating in his spare time. He is excited to experience the rich Jewish community that Washington has to offer, and that includes an endless supply of gourmet restaurants and bakeries. But make no mistake, a plate of southern barbecue and deep fried hushpuppies never fails to win him over.
