Daniel Stewart Morgan, son of Lynn and Randy Morgan of Potomac, will become a bar mitzvah on April 26 at Washington Hebrew Congregation in the District.
Joining in the simcha are sisters Natalie and Kate, grandparents Sharon and Bert Weidberg of Irvine, Calif., Judy and Jerry Adair of Newtown Square, Pa., and Howard and Betsy Morgan of Wayne, Pa. For his mitzvah project, Daniel collected clothes and books to send to Native Americans that he met in South Dakota from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. In addition, he donated some of his bar mitzvah money to a Native American nonprofit organization called Lakota Ways. Lakota Ways seeks to teach the public about Native American culture and history. Daniel is a seventh-grader at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville.
