Montgomery County police reported Thursday that they have arrested David B. Goldberg, age 24, of the 11600 block of Milbern Drive in Potomac. Goldberg has been charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder, two counts of first degree assault, and two counts of second degree assault. He is being held without bond.
At 2:03 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a report of stabbing at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda.
The dispute between drivers of two vehicles began when Goldberg’s car almost struck the other on the roadway that circles the mall. The dispute continued into the mall parking lot near the Sears store.
Once in the parking lot, the drivers exited their vehicles, which is when Goldberg is suspected of stabbing the driver, a 31-year-old male and his passenger, a 28-year-old female. Goldberg then got back into his car and drove away.
The suspect then crashed his car in the top level parking lot, disabling it, at which time, police report Goldberg called them. His 2-year-old daughter was in the vehicle.
Both victims were transported to the hospital, the female with serious injuries and the male with non-life-threatening injuries.
