David L. Stearman


David L. Stearman, of Chevy Chase, passed away on Nov. 30. He was 91. Born on Aug. 8, 1930, Dave was the son of May and Maurice Stearman and the younger brother of Selma, Ethyl and Bettye. David, a native Washingtonian, was a proud graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School and George Washington University. He was active for many years in the construction industry, building homes throughout the region with his partner, Bill Kaplan. David led the architectural committee at his condominium in Chevy Chase, helping to arrange the replacement of massive rooftop HVAC units on the building’s roof this past August. David was a regular attendee at Torah study at Temple Rodef Shalom in Falls Church.
Dave was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 61 years, Bernice Stearman, and beloved son Steven. He is survived by his children Robert (Pamela) and Gary (Kathleen) Stearman, and Lynn (Alan) Falick; his grandchildren, Daniel (Jeanine), Paul, Natalie, Patrick, May and Michael Stearman and Maya Falick; his great-grandchildren, James and Luke Stearman; and dear friend and companion Rita Bloom.
