Dr. Israel Kogan, of Washington, passed away on July 14. Beloved husband of Diana (Treiser) Kogan; devoted father of Dr. Mia Kogan (Dr. Sam Stopak) and Jessica Kogan; grandfather to David and William George and Mila and Charlotte Hughes; brother-in-law to Dr. Murray Treiser (Robin Solomon) and uncle of Dr. Mathew Treiser and Adam Treiser.
Born in Kishinev, Moldova, his family escaped persecution of the Nazis and emigrated to Israel. He attended Whittingehame College, a boarding school for boys in England before returning to Israel to serve in the Israeli army. He attended New York University and medical school at SUNY Buffalo. He served as a major in the U.S. Army.
A premier doctor of obstetrics and gynecology in the metropolitan area for more than 30 years, Dr. Kogan delivered multiple generations who turned to him for lifelong care.
