Elliott Datlow of Bethesda was named Professional Tennis Registry Member of the Year for Maryland, at the PTR annual meeting in February. This award is presented to a member who has shown dedication and diligence in promoting and supporting PTR and the sport of tennis.
Datlow is director of tennis at the Aspen Hill Club in Silver Spring, with over 4,000 members and 21 indoor and outdoor tennis courts.
Before the COVID-19 shutdown, Datlow directed some 35 tennis events and brought 1,000 junior players to tennis competition. During the pandemic, he created the “DATtennisCOACH” YouTube channel with tennis activities for players of all ages to keep in shape while at home.
