Film Viewing and Discussion

View the acclaimed German-Danish film, Winter Journey, based on Martin Goldsmith’s book, Inextinguishable Symphony. The film chronicles his musician parents’ journey from Nazi Germany to the US. The story goes back and forth between documentary and fiction to unearth their history and tell the little-known saga of the Judischer Culturbund, a Nazi creation and the only option available for Jewish musicians. A discussion will follow on June 27 with Goldsmith, a Sirius classical music announcer, and the filmmaker, Anders Ostergaard. Bob Edwards, Peabody award-winning journalist and first host of NPR’s Morning Edition, will serve as moderator. There is no fee for either the viewing or the discussion.
