In a release to its board of directors Tuesday night, The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington announced the creation of a new education department to include professionals from the Partnership for Jewish Life & Learning.
This new model ensures the future viability of the Partnership, whose sustainability had been questionable following years of financial troubles. Meryl Rosenberg, Partnership co-president, believes the use of Federation back-office and administrative supports and coordination of staff from both agencies will ensure the Greater Washington community continues to have educational support and services. She sees the collaboration as a “win/win for both organizations” and ultimately for the Greater Washington community.
“We are confident that with these changes, The Jewish Federation, working with the Partnership volunteers and professionals, will continue to be the catalyst for innovation and transformation in Jewish educational and identity-building experiences in the Greater Washington area,” said Federation CEO Steven A. Rakitt.
