George Altshuler joined WJW as a staff writer in September 2016. He previously worked for J – The Jewish News of Northern California and as a teacher in Washington, D.C. A graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont, he lived in Haiti for six months in 2013, where he taught journalism. He has freelanced for the Current newspaper group, the American Prospect, DCist and HillNow.com.
Having grown up in San Francisco, he’s been a fan of the Golden State Warriors since long before they were good. He enjoys listening to podcasts, reading and hanging out with his 90 pound greyhound.
