Herman Zeitchik

Herman Zeitchik, of Silver Spring, passed away on April 30. He was 97. Herman was born in Linden, N.J., to Esther and Frank Zeitchik. He went Linden High School and married the love of his life, Janet Greenberg Zeitchik, on Nov. 4, 1951, in Washington. Herman worked with the family-owned business and was an Army veteran of World War II, having served at Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge and Dachau. He was honored during the 2018 State of the Union Address, as well as by France as a Knight in the French Legion of Honor. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Mike Zeitchik, Doris Wahl and Shirley Levine. Herman is survived by his wife, Janet; his children, Carol (Elliot) Bodner, Linda (Alan) Frank and Howard Zeitchik; his grandchildren, Hillary (David Buchman) Bodner, Erica (Sean) Kruglak, Lindsay Bodner and Matthew (Kennan Bradley-Frank) Frank; and his great-grandchildren, Morgan and Jack Kruglak.
