On Dec. 15, Homer LaBorwit, 102, beloved “PopPop” to his family and longtime Baltimore resident, died in Potomac. Cherished husband for almost 80 years of Bess (Muskin); adored father of Phyllis Dreyfuss and the late Larry LaBorwit; unforgettable grandfather of Mitchell (Nancy), Scott (Lisa) and Todd (Adrienne) LaBorwit and Brian (Ellen) and Kevin (Christie) Dreyfuss; and great-grandfather of Lindsey, Austin, Gabrielle, Tyler, Dylan and Drew LaBorwit, and Max, Leo, and Luke Dreyfuss; brother of the late Jerry (Lee) LaBorwit and Dorothy (Sidney) Franklin; father-in-law of Goody Finklestein; treasured uncle of loving nieces and nephews. A hearty laugh, booming voice, strong opinions, great dance moves and an incredible appetite for all foods on the no-no list, he was a practicing optician into his 102nd year. A role model to family members and friends, he has left us with our own life-long memories of him. Memorial contributions may be made to JSSA Hospice or Hebrew Home of Greater Washington in Rockville.
