I was both pleased and dismayed to see area 20- and 30-something singles profiled (“Singled out,” WJW, Aug. 28). Inclusion of these profiles is a step towards filling a void that has existed since WJW abandoned its cumbersome “Matchmaker” classifieds. But at the same time, the goal here appears to be imitating television bachelor and bachelorette reality shows rather than serving area singles. Missing are crazy-smart, well-rounded, thoughtful and available Jews who happen to be in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond. By overtly excluding more seasoned counterparts of the fresh-faced overachievers profiled, WJW does the whole demographic a disservice.
