On Monday, July 15, Jay L. Cohen of Laurel. Jay was the cherished son of Adelle and Harold Cohen; devoted father to Katrielle (Kat) and Natanel (Natan) Cohen; a loving grandfather to Joseph Cohen; a dear brother to Mark (Robin) and Robert (Devra) Cohen; and the beloved uncle of Jennifer Cohen and Adam and Brian Morgenlander. Jay had many close friends and colleagues, and he made a very positive impact on everyone he encountered throughout his life. Jay was born and raised in Erie, Pa. He was a graduate of the University of Rochester earning duel undergraduate degrees in political science and psychology. Jay followed his undergraduate studies with a law degree from Georgetown University. He began practicing law in 1977, working for Israel & Raley in Washington, D.C. He worked there from 1977-1987, eventually becoming a full partner. In 1988 Jay opened his own law firm, working mainly with appeals, contracts and litigation. He was a longtime resident of the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C.
