Joe Miller, formerly development manager at Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation (NVHC) in Reston, has been named executive director of the Reform synagogue.
Miller’s tenure at NVHC began in September 2019 when he was hired to manage the synagogue’s Nitzavim Capital Campaign. With the departure in August 2020 of the synagogue’s former executive director, Miller stepped into the executive director’s role.
A Wisconsin native, Miller, 58, worked for 10 years in New York City in roles with the American Red Cross and at the Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. In Arizona, he served for 10 years as executive director of Temple Chai, a 700-family Reform congregation. He and his wife, an attorney, have two teenage children.
