On May 15, Joseph Fenton passed away peacefully at his home after a fulfilling life of 97 years. He was surrounded by his wife, children, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. Joseph Fenton dedicated his life to public service, advancing the opportunities and rights of those with special needs. In the 1960s, he headed the Governor’s Council on Rehabilitation in New York and later headed research and training programs in rehabilitation for the U.S. Department of Health. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. Funeral services were held May 18 at the Garden of Remembrance Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to JSSA Hospice in Rockville. Arrangements by Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, Inc., under Jewish Funeral Practices Committee of Greater Washington contract.
