Joy Apple Miller Singer

Joy Apple Miller Singer passed away peacefully on Oct. 18, surrounded by her immediate family. She was born on April 5, 1961, the daughter of Lynda Levin Behnke and the late Sidney Apple.

Joy grew up in Annapolis. She graduated with a degree in accounting from University of Maryland in 1983 and worked for more than 30 years as an actuarial consultant at Gorrelick, Tievy & Associates, and later at various other firms.

Throughout her adult life, she resided in Rockville and Bethesda, until moving with her husband, Ron, to Ocean City. Joy is survived by her husband , Ronald Singer; daughter, Brooke Miller (Christopher) Olsen; mother, Lynda (Kenneth) Behnke; sister, Monica Haley; aunts, Robin Levin and Barbara English; nephews, Joshua (Amanda) and Joseph Rodman; former spouse, Mark Miller; and grand-nephews, Zohar and Lior Rodman. She is preceded in death by grandparents Gertrude and Jack Levin.
