On April 25, Juliet Schneider of Rockville, died peacefully in her sleep. During her 96 years Julie’s love, generosity, positive attitude and encouragement touched not only her family, friends and co-workers, but also complete strangers. For more than 50 years, she was the personal secretary to the late Dimitri Mallios, the acknowledged dean of Alcoholic and Beverage Control attorneys in Washington, D.C., and didn’t retire until age 88. Julie’s signature could always be found on the liquor licenses of several dozen restaurants in D.C. and Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Schneider, daughter Eydie Gaskins, and son-in-law Rob Wunderlich, and brother-in-law Jerry Lowenstein. She is survived by her loving children Jerry Schneider (Sue Mindlin), of Burke, Va.; Diane Schneider of Jerusalem, Israel; and Eileen Wunderlich of Pleasant Ridge, Mich.; cherished grandchildren Samantha and Charlotte Wunderlich, and dear sister Roz Lowenstein of Orlando, Fla. Funeral services were held at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home in Silver Spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of the National Capital Area in Alexandria, or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, Inc. under Jewish Funeral Practices Committee of Greater Washington contract.
